OUR Place 2 Be
Preston Park Primary is proud to be a part of Place2Be – a national children’s charity working with over 200 schools across the UK.
They provide a safe space – The Place2Be room – where children can express their feelings through talking, creative work and play.
What difference does Place2Be make at Preston Park Primary?
Place2Be works to improve the confidence and emotional wellbeing of children.
We help children feel better about themselves enabling them to cope with difficult life events, establish friendships and focus in class. When children feel better about themselves, they are able to learn more easily and turn makes the school a happier place to be for all the children and that means less worry for parents.
How do we help children?
Place2Be works with children one-to-one and in small groups, offering regular time-tabled support for those who will benefit most.
All pupils can find help with any worries such as friendship issues by choosing to visit Place2Talk, which offers short lunchtime sessions to individuals and groups.
Journey of Hope Programme
Recently Place2Be took over the licence to provide Journey of Hope group work, initially developed by Save the Children to help develop resilience and self confidence in children through the use of parachute games, stories and creative exercises.
Preston Park Primary is excited to be amongst the first schools offering this opportunity to pupils and will soon be sending out invitations to take part.
How can we help parents?
Place2Be are able to support parents.
